ABC News just reported that Hawaii’s tourism industry is on the rebound with numbers of tourists visiting the Aloha State reaching the pre-recession levels of 2007. And with this rebound a number of new Hawaii hotels have opened as brand new properties, have been reopened under new ownership or renovated.
The report noted that on the northern part of Kauai, the St. Regis Princeville Resort re-opened in 2009 as the brand’s only property in the Aloha State. The St. Regis features Hawaii’s first Jean-Georges restaurant, Kauai Grill. The 121-room Koa Kea Hotel & Resort also opened in the Poipu Beach area of the island in 2009.
